Rebecca Heyliger IslandStats.com Day Three of the 20th Caribbean Island Swimming Championships saw Bermuda win more Medals in Barbados.
Rebecca Heyliger captured a Silver Medal during the Girls 18 & Over 50m Freestyle Final clocking a time of 27.00, while Lisa Blackburn won the Bronze Medal clocking 27.76.
Ethan Daley won a Bronze Medal clocking 32.28 in the 11-12 Boy’s 50m Backstroke Final. Shannon Hassell won the 13-14 Girls 50m Backstroke Bronze Medal clocking 32.35, the time qualified Hassell for the Canadian Age Group Championships.
Jesse Washington won the Silver Medal in the 13-14 Boy’s 50m Backstroke Final with a time of 28.82, Washington’s time of 28.63 during the Preliminaries saw him set a new 13-14 Boy’s 50m Backstroke Bermuda Record.
Heyliger went on to win a Bronze Medal in the Girls 18 & Over 50 Meter Backstroke with a time of 31.62.
Ashley Irby captured a Silver Medal when she clocked a time of 2:17.49 in the 11-12 Girls 200m Freestyle race.
During the Preliminaries Philip Hagen finished 16th taking part in the 15-17 Boy’s 50m Freestyle clocking 26.43. Heyliger advance to the Girls 18 & Over 50m Freestyle Final with a time of 27.34, while Blackburn recorded the 7th fastest time of 28.38. Andrew Beveridge clocked 26.02 finishing 15th during the Boy’s 18 & Over 50m Freestyle.
Ashley Irby clocked a time of 34.82 finishing 6th and advancing to the 11-12 Girls 50m Backstroke, while Ethan Daley advanced to the 11-12 Boy’s 50m Backstroke Final after clocking the third fastest time of 32.20. Shannon Hassell clocked 32.97 during the 13-14 Girls 50m Backstroke advancing to the Final, Jesse Washington recorded the 2nd fastest time of 29.63 during the 13-14 Boy’s 50m Backstroke.
Ashley Yearwood and Rebecca Heyliger both advanced to the 18 & Over Girls 50m Backstroke with times of 31.71 and 31.74.
Ashley Irby won her 11-12 Girls 200m Freestyle Preliminary race with a time of 2:18.71 and Ethan Daley was the 6th qualifier in the 11-12 Boys 200m Freestyle with a time of 2:17.52.
