4 More Medals on Day 2 of the CISC 2014 Championships

Day Two of the 20th Caribbean Island Swimming Championships got underway in Barbados.
Julian Fletcher set a New Bermuda and CISC Record on his way to winning the Gold Medal in the Boys 200m Breaststroke Final when he touched the wall in a time of 2:22.71, Fletchers time eclipsed an 11 year old record previously set by Chris Flook back in 1993.
Jesse Washington won a Gold medal competing in the 200m Freestyle, Rebecca Heyliger captured a Bronze Medal during the 100m Butterfly Final missing the National Record by 3 hundredths of a second and Lisa Blackburn won a Bronze Medal.
First up in the Preliminaries was the 200m Freestyles and first up was Philip Hagen.
Hagen swam 2:04.84 which placed him in 9th just missing the Finals, Ashley Yearwood’s 200m Freestyle moved directly to finals so next up was Andrew Beveridge who swam 2:05 in his heat to get into the Finals in 8th place.
Shannon Hassell faded at the end of her 200 Freestyle and was unable to reach the final. Washington rounded out the 200’s for the morning where he cruised in to the Finals looking very relaxed. He has the fastest time coming into the meet and will be looking to perform in the finals.
Yearwood and Beveridge saw their 100m Backstroke events go directly to finals. Ashley Irby swam a comfortable 400m Free to get into the finals where we hope to see her battle her competition.
Washington followed his 200m Freestyle with a relaxed 100m Butterfly to get him into the finals. Heyliger will be in the 100m Butterfly final as her event moved directly to finals. Ethan Daley finished our morning session by dropping 14 seconds off his 100 Breaststroke time.
