Ashley Yearwood and her Denison University Women’s Swimming teammates opened the Miami Invitational and sit in third-place.
Maimi University lead the field of seven teams with 278 points while Illinois sits in second-place with 195 points. Denison is third with 173 points. Fourth through seventh belongs to Cincinnati (136), Wright State (89), Emory (80), and Ball State (54).
Yearwood has competed in two Preliminary events thus far, Yearwood finished 9th in the Women’s 100 Yard Backstroke recording a Personal Best time of 57.04. During the Women’s 100 Yard Backstroke A Final Yearwood finished 8th touching the wall in a time of 57.45.
Yearwood then set another Personal Best time of 23.92 finishing 12th in the Women’s 50 Yard Freestyle Preliminaries. Yearwood won the Women 50 Yard Freestyle B Final race clocking a time of 23.87.
