Lisa Blackburn, recently took part in the 2012 FGC Florida Senior Championships in Plantation, Florida.
An excited Blackburn said, “I swam really great!”
The meet was hosted in a short course yards pool, so I was not able to break any Bermuda records (as Bermuda records are kept in a short course or long course meter format). Please see table below for my results;
Competing in the 50 Short Course Meter Breaststroke Preliminaries, Blackburn advanced to the Finals after recording a time of 29.85, which was faster than her previous best time on a Short Course of 31.50, in the Final, Blackburn clocked a time of 29.46 to finish 4th.
Blackburn also finished 4th in the 100 Short Course Meter Breaststroke Final with a time of 1:02.45, this after clocking 1:03.43 in the Preliminaries, Blackburn’s previous best time at this distance was 1:05.95 coming into the event.
Blackburn came into the 200 Short Course Meter Breaststroke event with a best time of 2:22.56, she clocked 2:17.62 in the Preliminaries and 2:13.68 in the final to finish winning a Bronze Medal.
Blackburn finished 8th in the 100 Short Course Meter Freestyle Final with a time of 52.15, she clocked 52.53 in the Preliminaries beating her previous best time of 53.91.
Blackburn went on to say, “As you can see, my times improved significantly at this meet! I am super excited about my improvements and am looking forward to competing in a Long Course Pool!”
“My next competitions are the US Grand Prix meets in Columbus, Ohio, March 8th – 11th then again in Indianapolis, Indiana, March 29th - 31st,” concluded Blackburn.
