Tomorrow's College Football stars including Devwah Whaley showcased their talents in the 2016 Under Armour All-America Game, with Whaley’s Team Highlight won 27-0 over Team Armour.
Whaley who we reported yesterday committed to Arkansas had 12 carries in the game gaining a total of 47 yards, his longest run was 14 yards.
Whaley also had 1 reception for 4 yards.
Prior to making his selection Whaley had narrowed his choices down to Arkansas, Georgia and Texas. Whaley was previously committed to Georgia but backed out of his pledge after the school parted ways with head coach Mark Richt. Arkansas and Texas now appear the teams to beat.
Whaley broke down his finalists exclusively with Horns247.
Arkansas
Pros: “I love the coaches at Arkansas. They are all great, and we have a really great relationship. Coach (Bret) Bielema is a great coach. He puts a lot of offensive linemen and running backs in the NFL.”
Cons: “The distance is not as bad, but it’s still not as close to home. That’s pretty much the only con with them.”
Georgia
Pros: “I was obviously committed there. It’s a great school and a great program. They produce a lot of great players and running backs.”
Cons: “After Coach Richt got fired, it wasn’t the same. But things like that happen all the time in college football.”
Texas
Pros: “It’s a great program with a lot of history and tradition. Coach (Charlie) Strong is a great coach. They have a great coaching staff. I have a great relationship with them. It’s a great school.”
Cons: “The only thing with Texas is that I have some doubt in my mind that Coach Strong will be there after the 2016 season. That’s the only thing I’m really worried about — whether he’ll be there or not.”
