2021 Bermuda Championship BF&M Volunteer Programme

IslandStats.com
The Bermuda Championship’s BF&M Volunteer Programme is now accepting online applications from the public. The tournament returns for its third year October 25 - 31 at Port Royal Golf Course, Southampton.

“We are delighted to return as sole sponsor of the Bermuda Championship Volunteer Programme for the third consecutive year,” said John Wight, Group Chairman and CEO of BF&M Limited. “It is gratifying to see so many people from our community being a part of a world-class event. Each and every one of them plays an important role in making the Championship such a success and in representing Bermuda as a premier sporting venue.”

“The Bermuda Championship wouldn’t be possible without the unwavering support and dedication from our volunteers,” said Sean Sovacool, Executive Director of the Bermuda Championship. “They are the heart and soul behind this event, and we are thrilled to continue working with BF&M to help ensure our volunteers receive a memorable experience on the course.”

Volunteer Opportunities
The BF&M Volunteer Programme is open to anyone 18 years of age and older, while those 13–17 can serve as Junior Volunteers on a select number of committees and receive community service hours. Golf knowledge isn’t required to volunteer; in fact, the tournament has a variety of opportunities for golfers and non-golfers alike. Over 500 volunteers will be required to fill positions on 17 committees, ranging from gallery management ambassadors, walking scorers, and TV spotters, to merchandise, pro-am and product distribution. A full list of committees can be viewed on the tournament website.

Back for 2021
Youth ages 13–17 have the opportunity to volunteer as a Standard Bearer, an exciting role of walking inside of the ropes with a player group while carrying a two-sided scoring standard.

How to Register
Interested volunteers should visit www.bermudachampionship.com/bfm-volunteer to apply online. Early submission of the application allows volunteers to specify their committee preference. Positions for this unique inside-the-ropes opportunity fill up quickly, so volunteers are encouraged to act fast.

Volunteers are asked to work a minimum of three shifts, which range from four to six hours each, depending on the committee. Volunteers will be provided with an official tournament polo, tournament hat, volunteer credential that provides access to the event even when not on duty, BF&M accessories, lunch on volunteer days, and more.

Make a Bigger Community Impact, Volunteer on Behalf of a Local Charity

This event requests the services of local charities to assist in our volunteer efforts. Volunteers may choose to donate their volunteer time and earn their nonprofit of choice a donation of $200 by volunteering for a minimum of three shifts during the tournament. Registered charities with the BF&M Volunteer Programme will be listed during the signup process, or click here to learn more about getting your organisation involved.

Adopt a Hole Programme
Another position that provides great viewing and exclusive access is that of Gallery Management Ambassador. Represent your club, company or organisation with the ‘Adopt-A-Hole’ Programme by assembling a group to manage the gallery on a hole throughout the week (Wednesday – Sunday). Contact Arden Vickers (avickers@bermudachampionship.com) for details on this opportunity.
