Bermuda Championships Tee Times Announced

The Bermuda Championship is a first-year PGA TOUR event and represents the TOUR’s first official event in Bermuda is set to get underway on Thursday at the Port Royal Golf Course.

The Field of 120 is headlined by FedExCup points leader Lanto Griffin and features five Bermuda players.

Just to highlight the Bermuda players, Daniel Augustus is competing on sponsor exemption. Augustus played Division II golf at Paine College in Augusta, Georgia before attending University of Georgia his senior year, he turned pro in 2010, Augustus has also won mini tour events in Florida.

Jarryd Dillas a 34-year-old amateur is competing on a sponsor exemption, Dillas is a former winner of Bermuda Amateur Stroke Play & Match Play titles, he played collegiately at University of Rhode Island and Columbus State University and Dillas has represented Bermuda at the World Amateur Team Championship multiple times.

Kenny Leseur is a 15-year-old amateur on a Sponsor Exemption, Leseur attends the International Junior Golf Academy in Howey in the Hills, Florida. At least five players have competed on TOUR at a younger age since 2000 (Michelle Wie, Guan Tianlang, Andy Zhang, Lorens Chan, Tadd Fujikawa). Leseur would be the fourth-youngest player ever to make a cut on the PGA TOUR.

Michael Sims is a 40-year-old who turned professional in 2002, Sims is poised to make PGA TOUR debut playing on a sponsor exemption, Sims owns five top-10 finishes in 111 career starts on the Korn Ferry Tour. Sims grew up in Bermuda playing junior golf; won the Bermuda Open at Port Royal Golf Club as a professional, Sims shot 59 in the second round of the 2012 Southern Open on the eGolf Professional Tour.

Dwayne Pearman is a 56-year-old who turned professional in 1986 and will compete on a sponsor exemption. Pearman is a Multiple winner of Bermuda Open (2), Bermuda PGA Championship (13) and Bermuda PGA Matchplay (4). Pearman has made Three World Cup appearances for Bermuda (Kapalua/1987, Grand Cypress/1990, Lake Nona/1993).
