Bermuda Junior Golf Association’s 35th Annual Fecchio Cup got underway in near perfect golfing conditions at Port Royal Golf Course.
Fourteen Junior Golfers began competing in Two Divisions with the Champion to be crowned on Saturday.
In the Championship Division, Kenny Leseur showed no sign of jet-lag after arriving back from his golf academy boarding school yesterday, jumping out to an early lead with an excellent round of 1-under par 70. Leseur’s play was even better than his score indicated, with a Double-Bogey on the last hole taking his score out of the 60’s.
Spencer Young is the nearest challenger after a solid round of 79, with Adam Perry, Alex Withers-Clarke and Benjamin Betschart in the chasing pack.
The Red Tee Division is playing a Stableford event, with points being allocated based on the score on the hole in relation to par.
Oliver Betschart has jumped out to an early lead with 24 points, but he is closely followed by Nicholas Weikl who has 20 points with Sa-Qui Robinson and Matthew Roberts one point further behind on 19 points.
Arthur Gadeke is just a few points behind in his first event, with Ryan and Jack Carruthers, Sebastian Fischer and Adam Roberts closing out the division.
