Seamus Powers 2012 season on the eGolf Tour has had a number of highs, and a few lows. Among the highs were his first career win at the River Run Classic in March, and his second career win at the Spring Creek Classic in June. At the tours third annual Grand Harbor Open this week, the Waterford, Ireland native sits poised to make a run at win No. 3, having posted a 10-under 62 in Wednesdays Opening Round to grab a one-shot lead heading into Thursdays second round of the 72-hole event.
The Grand Harbor Open is the 18th event of the 2012 eGolf Tour season and is being contested this week at both The Patriot Golf Club at Grand Harbor and The Golf Club at Star Fort in Ninety-Six, SC.
Meanwhile Michael Sims shot a First Round 3-under par 69 to finish T25th seven strokes off the leader.
Sims started out on the Front Nine with five consecutive Pars, before recording a Bogey on the par four sixth, three more Pars, saw Sims make the turn at 1-over par.
Sims caught fire on the Back Nine where he began with back to back Pars, before shooting a Birdie on the par four twelfth to pull Even, this was followed by back to back Pars, before back to back Birdies were recorded on the par three fifteenth and par four sixteenth. Sims then recorded a Par on the par three seventeenth, before closing out his round with a Birdie on the par five eighteenth to end at 3-under par.
