Throughout much of Friday afternoon’s Third Round of the eGolf Tour’s Second Annual Championship at Woodside Plantation, Brian Duncan found himself in and around a veritable plethora of contenders – all jammed between 10- and 14-under par for the week. Three consecutive Birdies on Number 13, 14 and 15, however, vaulted Duncan into the lead – a spot he wouldn’t relinquish. With rounds of 67-66-66, Duncan is on the precipice of notching win No. 1, heading into Saturday’s final round with a two-shot lead.
The Championship at Woodside Plantation is the 17th event of the 2012 eGolf Tour season and is being contested this week at the Rees Jones-designed Wisteria Course at Woodside Plantation Country Club in Aiken, SC.
Sims started the day T4th and ended in the same position after his Third Round 1-under par 71 six strokes off Duncan.
Sims started out on the Front Nine with four consecutive Pars, which was followed by a Birdie on the par five fifth, three more Pars was followed by a Birdie on the par four ninth to make the turn at 2-under.
On the Back Nine Sims began with three more Pars, which was followed by a Bogey on the par four thirteenth, Sims had a Par and then a Birdie on the par three fifteenth, Sims closed out with back to back Pars and a Bogey on the par four eighteenth.
