Drew Weaver won the eGolf Tours Southern Open, which concluded at the Club at Irish Creek in Kaanapolis, N.C.
Weaver, a former Virginia Tech golfer, shot 70 and beat Michael Sims (67 on Saturday) in a sudden-death playoff. They finished at 17-under 267.
Sims shot a Final Round 4-under par 67 to finish level with Weaver who started the day with a three stroke lead. Sims would be cursing his luck as he was on top of the leaderboard with one hole to play but a Double Bogey allowed Weaver a chance in a play-off.
Sims round included 8 Birdies, 7 Pars, 2 Bogeys and that 1 Double Bogey. Weaver won $24,000 and Sims, who had a second-round 59, won $14,111.
