Second-round play in the eGolf Tours Spring Creek Classic was suspended at 7:29 PM on Thursday evening due to area thunderstorms. At the time of suspension, Adam Mitchell of Atlanta, GA and Seamus Power of Waterford, Ireland were the tournament co-leaders at 11-under 132.
Second-round play will resume at 7:00 AM on Friday morning, with the field being cut to the low 46 players and ties shortly thereafter, and final-round play beginning off of Nos. 1 and 10 tees at 8:30 AM.
The Spring Creek Classic is the 13th of 24 events in the 2012 eGolf Tour season and is being contested this week at Spring Creek Golf Club in Gordonsville, VA. The event is one of ten 54-hole events the tour is conducting in 2012.
Michael Sims is just on the outside of the Cut Line as he is T48th after starting the day T31st.
Sims shot a Second Round 1-over par 72 and is at Even Par on the Leaderboard.
Sims started out with a bang as he had back to back Birdies on the par 4 first and par 5 second holes to move to 2-under par, however that was erased by the fourth hole as he recorded back to back Bogeys on the par 4 third and fourth holes.
Sims ran off three consecutive Pars before a Bogey on the par 3 eighth saw him move to 1-over for his round, he closed out the Front Nine with a Par to make the turn 1-over.
On the Back Nine Sims began with 4 consecutive Pars, before another Bogey on the par 4 fourteenth saw him fall to 2-over par, but after two Pars, Sims gave himself a chance to advance to the third round when he had a Birdie on the par 3 seventeenth, Sims closed out his round with a Par.
