With 10 holes to play in the second round of the HGM Hotels Classic at Rock Barn, eGolf Tour member George Bryan IV ran into a familiar face his brother Wesley. With a 20-foot Birdie putt awaiting him on the green of the par-5 18th (his ninth), George Bryan found out from his younger brother that Wesley had posted a second-round 68 to reach 9-under in his professional debut.
While the brothers battled at the top of the Leaderboard, Michael Sims was attempting to make the Cut in the middle of the pack.
Sims started the day T86th after he shot a First Round 1-over par 73. The Cut was set at 2-under par with Sims knowing he would need to shoot 3-under par to make it to a Third Round, however Sims could only manage a Second Round 2-under par and missed the Cut by one stroke.
Sims started out on the Front Nine and ran off nine consecutive Pars to make the turn at Even Par. On the Back Nine Sims started out with back to back Pars, before he dug himself into a hole.
Sims had a Bogey on the par four twelfth, but back to back Birdies on thirteen and fourteen saw Sims raise his chances of making the Cut with four holes to play. Sims ran off three more Pars before closing out with Birdie on the par five eighteenth to end at 2-under par missing the Cut by one stroke.
