The Ross “Blackie” Talbot Hole In One Competition, was the closing event for the 20th Anniversary Event which saw close to 200 people stopping by to try their luck at the Ocean View Golf Club.
Steve Marklew President & CEO Total Marketing and Communications Limited said, “Whilst we had a slow start to the day at 9:00am we certainly ended up with many people stopping by to try their luck and win a fabulous Renault Megan Car from Euro Car.” He continued, Our Presenting Sponsor, Bermuda Cable Vision, provided us with an excellent opportunity to continue this our 20th and final year’s celebrations!”
Alan Smith, of Cable Vision was on hand all day and proved to be a wonderful emcee as he took over the microphone to announce the participants and provide excellent and sometimes amusing commentary of their attempts at the green.
Clement Talbot was also present and tried his luck as well. Several of his were on line but with the hard greens unfortunately his shots did not stop close enough. At one point during the festivities, Talbot and Smith had a shoot off to see who could get closer. Smith, who earlier in the day did manage to get quite close, just edged Talbot but only by inches.
It was also great to see so many Juniors making an attempt, alongside the men, ladies and seniors. With the many participants present, there were still plenty of prizes available for all those that managed to land their ball within 25 feet of the hole. Just about everyone who took part was able to walk away with a prize of some kind.
However, it proved to be 4 very good shots that won the prizes available for the closest to the pins in the Men’s Ladies, Juniors and Seniors Divisions.
