Senior Luke McClellan finished with a round of 1-under-par 71 to finish in second place and lead Mark Phillips and the University of South Carolina Beaufort Men's Golf team to a third-place showing at the Embry-Riddle Bash at the Beach at LPGA International.
McClellan shot 5-under for the 54-hole tournament to finish three shots behind SCAD Savannah's Billy Nisbet and help the University of South Carolina Beaufort move up one spot on the tournament's final day. McClellan and Nisbet were tied for the lead entering the final round, but Nisbet carded a 4-under 68.
USCB posted a team final day score of 293 to finish the two-day event at 884. Johnson and Wales won the team title at 876, one shot ahead of Webber International.
Phillips (72-75-79—226), Brian Langley (78-76-72—226) and Travis Cashion (74-76-76—226) all tied for 25th, and Jack Bingham (80-80-74—234) rounded out the University of South Carolina Beaufort lineup in a tie for 47th.
