Yesterday at the National Equestrian Center on Vesey Street in the first race of the day Kiwon Waldron in the bike of War Machine clocked a Track Record time of 1:01/2 during the 1:03&4 & Faster Time Bar Class.
Waldron in his first interview following the race said, “You have to know the horse and gauge how the horse is looking and feeling on the day to know if they are going to have a great day or just a regular day.”
Daniel Greenslade the horse owner said, “I have seen Waldron putting in the time with this horse he spends every day at the stables, not matter what the conditions he is out there.”
Greenslade added, ‘I don’t always stay at the track, but Waldron said he was going to take the Track Record so I showed up and I am glad I was there to see it as this particular record has stood for a number of years.”
The Record was previously held by Big Red Machine which was set back in 2011, ironically the race day before the Boxing Day Stake Races the same as this year’s event.
