Trott & West Ham U23's Fall to Manchester City

IslandStats.com
Nathan Trott and his West Ham United Under 23 teammates were back in action looking to get their second win of the Premier League 2 season in as many games with Manchester City the visitors to the Chigwell Construction Stadium, but they fell 6 - 4.

In the 5th minute Trott made a terrific save, the stopper flung himself away to his left after Rabbi Matondo burst away down the right before making his way to the edge of the box and testing the keeper.

But five minutes later Manchester City scored, Goal. Nail Touaizi-Zoubdi scored the goal, the striker was slipped through on goal to face Trott and coolly chipped into the net at the end of a really well-worked City move.

In the 18th minute it was a second goal for Manchester City. Benjamin Garre was the scorer this time, calmly finishing with his left foot having been thread through on goal perfectly by Iker Pozo.

In the 35th minute it got worse for West Ham – City scored a third. It's Touaizi-Zoubdi with a second, and a second chip as well. Reece Oxford played the ball to Akinola in the left back position, but the No3 gave it away and City broke fast, with the forward chipping Trott who slipped from outside the box.

A minute later to further complete the misery, there's a second booking for Tunji Akinola who receives his marching orders.

In first half stoppage time Xande Silva scored his fourth goal of the week! And what a lung-busting run it is from Josh Pask who set it up with sheer determination. A Manchester City corner kick was headed to the edge of the box and picked up by Pask, who ran the length of the pitch before sliding in Xande Silva alongside him, who did the rest from inside the box with a lovely finish.

Now in the 71st minute and just a minute after missing with his head, Josh Cullen this time powers his header into the back of the net and the ten-men Hammers are within a goal of the visitors.

But three minutes later it was some short lived joy for West Ham. City have a fourth. A mix-up at the back between Ben Johnson and sub Mason Barrett lets Rabbi Matondo in and the winger rounded Trott to score City's first second half goal.

In the 88th minute Manchester City Sub Poveda found some space on the right before cutting in and unleashing a left-footed effort on goal, however it was pushed away easily by Trott, though.

In the 4th minute of stoppage time there's an eighth goal of the game and it's City's, Benjamin Garre rounded Trott and scores, but hold on one minute later in this bizarre finale, sub Oladapo Afolayan scored his first competitive West Ham goal making the score 5 – 4.

But in the 6th minute of stoppage time Manchester City would score again and it was Touaizi-Zoubdi completing his hat-trick.
