Under ideal weather conditions, the final phase of the 2018 FEI World Jumping Challenge (FEI WJC) was held at the National Equestrian Center on Vesey Street.
The 2018 FEI WJC comprised three separate jumping events with the previous two events having been held and covered on February 24th & March 11th by www.islandstats.com.
The FEI’s Individual, Regional and World rankings are determined from the best results from two of the three events. It was plain sailing for Category “A” (1.20-1.30m) competitor Philip Correia and Emerson who secured an accumulative score of zero faults and time of 121.72 seconds. Placing second was Dale Rochester and Carolina Gold with an accumulative score of 13 faults and time of 134.76.
In the Category “B” Division, (1.10 – 1.20m), Casey Truran and De Le Vega, had solid performances gaining an accumulative score of zero faults in a time of 126.21.
Courtney Bromby and Worth the Wait captured first place in the very competitive Category “C” Division (1.00 - 1.10m) with zero faults and accumulated time of 117.79. Philip Correia and Hornelli, jumped to second place also with zero faults but with a accumulated time of 130.74. Kayla Bardgett and her new horse, Causing Chaos, placed third with an accumulative score of 4 faults and time 123.68 whilst her mother, Abby Bardgett riding Up Up and Away, placed 4th with an accumulative score of 4 faults and time 125.70.
With competitors in all three jumping categories, Bermuda is able to field a 2018 team.

Category A – Winner Philip Correia & Emerson Category B – Winner Casey Truran and De Le Vega Category C – Winner Courtney Bromby and Worth the Wait Judging the final phase of the competition was overseas FEI Judge Wendy Chapot Nunn and local FEI Judge Judy Hagen. Bermuda now must wait until the end of 2018 to discover its final standings in the 2018 FEI World Jumping Challenge as competing countries have until December 31st in which to conclude their events.
