IslandStats.com
Bermuda riders took to the center ring of the National Equestrian Center to compete in the 2016 Caribbean Equestrian Association’s Regional Jumping Challenge.

With all the results now in Bermuda are crowned the REGIONAL JUMPING CHALLENGE CHAMPIONS IN BOTH TEAM & INDIVIDUAL CATEGORIES.

This was the first time that Bermuda has competed in the Caribbean Equestrian Association’s Regional Jumping Challenge, which is currently in its second year.

The competition is most unique as there is no distinction between age and gender. Adults and Children have the opportunity to compete against each other.

The Caribbean Equestrian Association’s Regional Jumping Challenge provides competitors of all ages an opportunity to measure their skills against riders within the Caribbean region.

Riders compete in their own countries, over two rounds of a predetermined jumping course at heights of .70m, .85m or 1.00m.

The top two scores from each division from the country’s team.

Members of the Winning Bermuda Team Batteries Not Included ridden by Tyler Lopes (.70m), Jack Frost ridden by Ariane Willmott (.70m), Wiratoro ridden by Kelsey Amos (.85m), Helsinki Van De Heffinck ridden by Bevis Tetlow (.85m), Mr. Bentley ridden by Elizabeth Madeiros (1.00m), De la Vega ridden by Casey Truran (1.00m),

In addition to winning the Team event, Bermuda riders also won the OVERALL INDIVIDUAL CATEGORIES.

Top placing individual riders were Tyler Lopes on Batteries Not Included (.70m), Kelsey Amos riding Wiratoro (.85m) and Elizabeth Madeiros riding Mr. Bentley (1.00m).

The Bermuda Equestrian Federation would like to extend thanks to title sponsor Bermuda Veterinary Services and also thank the BF&M Insurance Company for its support.
