There were mixed results at Warwick Academy during the Bermuda School Sports Federation All-Star Volleyball matches.
The Red Team was dominant in cruising to victory over the Blue Team in straight games 25-11, 25-11 in the Senior School Girls match.
Katherine McPhee proved unstoppable with her serve in the Girls match. The Warwick Academy student scored 8 straight points to start the match for the Red Team. The Blue Team could never recover despite the defensive efforts of MSA Libero Cailey Longworth.
The Red Team kept piling on the points with fine front row play from Saltus’ Sy Mcpeek, match MVP Warwick Academy’s Amber Simons and setter Zori Seymour also from Warwick Academy.
The second match saw much of the same with McPhee again serving first. The score was 13-0 before the Blue Team could get on the scoreboard. They got into the game and made a rally before finally falling 25-11 again.
The Blue Team won two straight close games in the Senior School Boys match 25-20 25-22.
The Senior Boys match was much closer but the Blue Team was never under threat of losing the match. The Blue Team was led by an arsenal of hitting from MVP Tyler Hurdle from Saltus Grammar School.
The Red Team rallied late in the second set but it proved to be too little too late. Steven Camara from Warwick Academy was named MVP from the Red team.
