Cumberbatch wearing 1729 IslandStats.com Following www.islandstats.com coverage of the 2-Day Track Meet at the National Sports Center and reporting on the two who met the Qualifying Standard, President of the Bermuda National Athletics Association Donna Raynor has highlighted two more athletes who met the Carifta Games Standards for the year.
Raynor said, “Bermuda athletes competed in a track meet in Barbados, The February Classic 2017, and we had 2 athletes reach the qualifying standard. Telilah Wears competing in the Under 18 Girls Division in the 200m clocked a time of 25.42 with the standard 25.70. Deneo Brangman qualified in 2 events in the Under 18 Boys Division, first in the 200m running a time of 22.43 with the standard 22.52 and then the 400m running a time of 49.77 with the standard 49.96.”
Raynor goes on to say, “We still have a few athletes who are close to the standard Stephan Dill (U20) in the 100m 10.9 qualifying 10.75 and the 200m 22.13 qualifying 21.80, Dlevonte Lodge (U18) 200m 23.22 qualifying 22.52 and 100m 11.4 qualifying 11.03,, Lejaun Matthews(U18) 100m 11.6 qualifying 11.03 and 200m 23.73 qualifying 22.52. Zekiah Lewis (U18) LJ 5.28m qualifying 5.45m, Tilda Norman (U18) 1500m 5:13.3 qualifying 5:02. Aaron Jacobs (U18) 800m 2:03.07 qualifying 2:03.00.”
At the moment Bermuda has 8 athletes who have met the standard and are eligible to compete.

Telilah Wears (Under 18 Girls) 200m

Johndell Cumberbath (Under 18 Boys) 3000m
Kevin Miller (Under 20 Boys) High Jump
Raynor concluded, “We have until March 26th to name our team so we still have some time for the athletes to reach the standards.”
