A day after a Track Meet was held at the National Sports Center Flora Duffy South Field Stadium, the Bermuda National Athletics Association (BNAA) President Dr. Freddie Evans announced that Jake Brislane has met the Qualifying Standard for the Carifta Games in the 5000m Under 20 Men’s Division.
Brislane ran a Time-Trial, supervised by the track club he is currently training with in the UK, and record a brisk time on 15:33, well below the Qualifying Standard.
Brislane said, “The running conditions were very good - cool but not cold and there was no wind, I felt good at the end of the run.”
Brislane joins Khazi Sealey the other athlete that qualified in the 5000m, Tommy Marshall and Kallan Richardson are also hoping to reach the qualifying standard in the next two weeks.
Only two athletes can represent Bermuda in each event.
