Bermuda’s Paralympian Jessica Lewis was back on the Track in Dubai competing in the World Para Athletics Championships.
Lewis took to the Track for the T53 Women's 800m Final.
Lewis clocked a time of 2:05.38 on her way to finishing 8th.
Madison de Rozario from Australia set a Championship Record in the race clocking a Gold Medal time of 1:52.15.
Lewis on completion of competition told www.islandstats.com, “I am really proud of how I raced here at my 4th World Championships. To come away with a 4th place finish in my main event the 100m gives me so much confidence going into a Paralympic Year and a extra little push for training even harder for Tokyo.”
“To also come away from this competition having qualified in my own right for a 400m Final was a big leap forward for me as well,” continued Lewis.
Lewis concluded, “Competing in the 800m was a bit tough for me here but I know it’s not my focus event. I’m still proud to be among the top women in the world. To have also set a personal best time in the 100m I know that I put everything I had into my race and gives me hope that I can still get faster.”
