A trio of University of Georgia Track and Field team members including Bermuda’s Sakari Famous advanced to the NCAA Championships during the Opening Day of the NCAA East Prelims in Jacksonville, Florida.
Freshman Famous finished in the top nine of the Women’s High Jump to continue her seasons.
With seven competitors reaching 5 feet 10.75 inches or 1.80m, Famous was one of five jumpers to clear 1.75m or 5 feet 8.75 inches and did so by efficiently having first-attempt clearances at her first three heights.
After taking 11th at the Southeastern Conference Championships, Famous was tied for 20th on the East Region's performance list coming into the meet.
