BSSF Middle School Championships

Dellwood Middle School Won their first Middle School Track and Field Championship in convincing fashion at the National Sports Center. Dellwood won by 97 points scoring 563 points. Defending champions T.N Tatem was closest with 466. Sandys Secondary Middle School finished third with 361.83 points. Dellwood won the Girls Division with 312 points followed by T.N Tatem with 244. Dellwood also won the Boys Division with 251 points. They were followed closely by Sandys Secondary Middle School with 243.

Shayla Cann from Warwick Academy won the Under 12 Girls Division after winning the odd combination of the 100, 400 and 1500 meter events. Schoolmate Asia-Leigh Hollis won the 200 and finished second to Cann in the 100. Jahstice Grant from Dellwood won the Long Jump and finished second in the 200 and third in the 100.

Stefan Jones from Sandys finished first in the 400, 800 and 1500 meters to claim the Under 12 Boys Title. Schoolmate Anaya West also had a good meet winning the 100 and 200 meters while finishing third in the high jump.

There was a tie in the Under 13 Girls Division with Tes-yah-Mahle Astwood from Dellwood and Jade Johnson from Saltus Grammar School sharing top Honours. Astwood won the 200 and 400 meters and finished in second to Johnson in the 800. Johnson also won the 1500 meters while finishing second to Astwood in the 400.

T.N Tatem swept all races in the Under 13 Boys Division with Chayse Tanner and Sancho Smith dominating the age group. Tanner won the 100, 200 and 400 meters while Smith won the 800 and 1500 meters along with the High Jump.

Za'kayza Parsons continued to dominate her age group with the Over 13 Girls Title. The T.N Tatem student once again captured Gold in the 100, 200 and Long Jump. Saltus' Selah Tuzo won the 800 and finished second in the 1500 and 400

Saltus' Nyrobi Smith-Mills captured the Over 13 Boys crown winning the 400, 800 and 1500 meters. Smith-Mills broke the only record of the meet when winning the 800 meters in a time of 2:11.97.
