BSSF East & East Central Primary Qualifiers

The Bermuda School Sports Federation’s Track and Field Championships continued in some tough conditions with the East and East Central Zone Primary School Qualifiers at the National Sports Center.

East Zone

Karis Brooks from Harrington Sound won the Under 9 Girls 100 Meter Dash clocking 18.22, Nazari Menzer also from Harrington Sound was second in 19.20 and Eva Tuzo finished third with a time of 19.75 representing St. David's Primary.

The Under 9 Girls Cricket Ball Throw was won by Harrington Sound’s Ja’Shay Trott with a toss of 22.34m, Tuzo from St. David's Primary was second tossing the Ball 21.06m and Reese Morbey from St. George's Preparatory finished third with a toss of 18.16m.

A new record was established in the Under 10 Boys Cricket Ball Throw by Isaiah O'Brien from Harrington Sound Primary with a toss of 56.80m, O’Mani Jones from St. David's Primary was second with a toss of 40.56m and Jyus Dill also from St. David's Primary finished third with a top toss of 37.90m.

Jannis Robert set a new record in the Over 10 Boys High Jump with a leap of 1.27m representing the St. George's Preparatory, Jaidyn Paiva from Harrington Sound was second leaping 1.25m and Sakanai Shawki was third with a leap of 1.23m.

East Central Zone

Keyandae Lightbourne from Elliot Primary won the Under 9 Girls 800 Meter Run stopping the clock in 3:01.00, Ava Butterfield from Somersfield Academy was second in 3:02.00 and Emma Allington finished third in 3:03.00 representing the Somersfield Academy.

The Under 9 Girls Long Jump was won by Deandra Kelleyman from Prospect Primary with a leap of 2.68m, Somers Stevenson was second representing Somersfield Academy leaping 2.56m and Eshe Holdipp from Elliot Primary finished third leaping 2.52m.

Justin Furbert clocked 1:15.74 on his way to winning the Over 10 Boys 400 Meter Dash representing Elliot Primary, Cameron Simons from Somersfield Academy was second with a time of 1:17.87 and Somersfield Academy student Caiden Millett was third clocking a time of 1:21.86.

Paris Robinson won the Over 10 Boys 800 Meter Run clocking 2:47.27 representing Elliot Primary, Justin Furbert also of Elliot Primary was second in 2:58.27 and Odin Heinz from Somersfield Academy finished third in 3:04.64.
