Flyers Track Clubs hosted the latest Bermuda National Athletics Associations Carifta Trials Track Meet at the National Sports Center.
The Under 18 High Jump had everyone's attention as 13 year old Amelia Othman met the Carifta Standard with a leap of 1.60m with the Standard being 1.55m, Othman however is too young to attend the Caribbean Junior Track and Field Championships as they begin at 14. Sakari Famous won the event also leaping 1.60m.
Aaron Jacobs is inching closer to the Under 18 Boys 400 Meter Dash Carifta Qualifying Standard of 49.96 when he was clocked at 51.90, Clevonte Lodge was second in 52.49 and Nirobi Mills finished third in a time of 55.61.
With a leap of 2.05m Elisha Darrell met the Carifta Standard of 1.95m on his way to winning the event.
Lodge is also close to meeting the Under 18 Boys 100 Meter Dash Carifta Qualifying Standard time of 11.03, he was clocked in 11.39, while Lejaun Matthews was second in 11.55.
