Perinchief Heading to the University of Arkansas

As we come down to National Signing Day for Athletes, www.islandstats.com can confirm that Bermuda’s Jah-Nhai Perinchief has selected the University of Arkansas.

Perinchief said, “To every school that recruited me and the athletes who were all great people, thank you very much but I feel this is the best place for me to pursue my dreams.”

“Proud to say I’m going to be a Razorback,” concluded Perinchief.

Iowa-based Perinchief who has taken the High Jump World by storm jointly tops the 2016 World Under 20 list with a 2.26m lifetime best.

The year started off with Perinchief represented Iowa Central Community College at the Minnesota State Alumni Open Indoor Track Meet.

Perinchief won the Men’s High Jump with a top leap of 2.16m.

Perinchief was one of three Iowa Central students to set new School Records during the Iowa Duals hosted by the University of Iowa.

Perinchief set a New School Record on his way to winning the Men’s Triple Jump with a top leap of 14.51 meters.

On Sunday April 17th, 2016 at the Wichita State K.T. Woodman Outdoor Classic at the Cessna Stadium, Perinchief broke the Bermuda Junior National Record which was held by Clarence "Nicky" Saunders height of 2.22m set back in July 1981.

Perinchief in this competition recorded a Personal Best jump on his way to winning the Men’s High Jump with a leap of 2.26m.

Perinchief reached the final of the High Jump at the IAAF World Under-20 Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland.

Perinchief was also named the Regional USTFCCCA Men’s Field Athlete of the Year.
