On Wednesday, www.islandstats.com reported Bermuda National Athletic Association is working on the improvement of coaches by hosting a Level One Course with IAAF Certified instructors.
Roy Thomas from Jamaica is a IAAF Regional Lecturer, is being assisted by Craig O’Connor from St. Kitt’s are conducting the course.
Thomas' involvement with sports started back in the 1983 when he earned a Bachelor's degree in Physical Education from Instituto Superior de Cultura Fisica in Cuba.
After returning home, Thomas started teaching at the GC Foster College, before picking up his first assignment as strength and conditioning coach for a volleyball team.
Ten local coaches are taking advantage of the course offered by the Bermuda National Athletic Association, assisted by the Olympic Solidarity Fund and the Bermuda Olympic Association.
