Members of the Bermuda Pacers Track Club began competing in the 2016 Russell E. Blunt East Coast Invitational at the Durham County Memorial Stadium in Durham, North Carolina.
The first Medals on Day One came when Ryan Outerbridge won the Silver Medal in the 3000 Meter Run 13-14 Division Boys stopping the clock in 10:08.88, Iziah Tucker finished third in 10:36.18 to capture the Bronze Medal.
During the 3000 Meter Run 15-16 Division Boys Jayden Ming won the Silver Medal recording the time of 10:28.87.
S'Nya Cumbermack won the 200 Meter Dash 8 & Under Division Girls Preliminaries with a time of 32.25, Arimah Turner finished third in 34.52 and Karis Brooks finished 4th in 34.57 all three will take there spot in the Finals. Daylan Scott advanced to the 200 Meter Dash 8 & Under Division Boy’s final after clocking the 5th fastest time of 31.42. J’naz Richards missed out on advancing to the 200 Meter Dash 9-10 Division Girls finals after recording the 14th fastest time of 33.74.
Jace Donawa clocked the third fastest time in the 200 Meter Dash 9-10 Division Boy’s Preliminaries and advanced to the final. Sanaa Rar Morris will compete in the 200 Meter Dash 11-12 Division Girls final after finishing 6th in the preliminaries with a time of 28.28.
Taylor Hines’ time of 26.78 saw her advance to the 200 Meter Dash 13-14 Division Girls final with the 5th fastest time, while Makyla Tucker finished 17th with a time of 28.22. Clevonte Lodge clocked the fastest time in the 200 Meter Dash 13-14 Division Boys preliminaries with a time of 23.81, while Telilah Wears advanced to the 200 Meter Dash 15-16 Division Girls final with the 6th fastest time of 25.83, Syriah Lottimore finished 13th clocking 26.90 and Zye Simmons finished 16th with a time of 27.20.
Jai Talbot missed out on an appearance in the 200 Meter Dash 17-18 Division Women final after recording the 11th fastest time of 26.07.
Zekiah Lewis finished 4th during the Triple Jump Measure 9.7 15-16 Division Girls with a top leap of 10.53m, Myeisha Sharreiff finished 5th in the High Jump Start 1.15 11-12 Division Girls with a leap of 1.20m, Marli Butterfield was 7th leaping 1.15m.
Sancho Smith picked up the High Jump Start 1.20 11-12 Division Boys Gold Medal with a top leap of 1.60m.
The Bermuda team of Aaron Jacobs, Jayden Ming, Malik Joell and Sajan Harvey won the 4x800 Meter Relay 15 through 19 Boys race with a time of 8:35.73.
