King and Minors Advance to Finals

Arantxa King booked her ticket to the NCAA Championships after a ninth place finish in the Women’s Triple Jump.

Competing in the NCAA Division I 2012 Outdoor Track and Field Championships - West Preliminary at the University of Texas in Austin, Texas King had a top leap of 12.82m.

King recorded a leap of 12.41m in her first attempt, she then had the leap of 12.82m in her second attempt. King then ran off two consecutive Fouls before passing on her fifth and sixth attempts knowing she had already qualified.

Meanwhile Dage Minors set a new St. Johnsbury School Record in the 800m finishing second with a time of 1:55.44 during the Essex Invitational New England Qualifier with the previous record of 1:57.

Minors ran the final leg of the Schools 4x100m Relay along with Shosun Durham, David Duong and Brian Fubler, that finished 3rd, he also powered the Schools 4x800 Relay Team of Brandon Legendre, Kory Powers and Ben Bunnell to a first place finish.
