Aaron Evans is one of the thirty-one members of Georgia's University Track and Field team that have advanced to the NCAA East Preliminary Round in 28 different events, according to the declaration lists released by the NCAA on Thursday.

Georgia will be traveling to Jacksonville, Fla., on Tuesday as competition begins on Thursday morning at North Florida's Hodges Stadium. The top 48 competitors in every event, other than the heptathlon and decathlon, from across the East Region will be battling for the top 12 spots. The 12 who qualify in each event will advance to the finals of the NCAA Championships in Des Moines, Iowa, on June 6th – 9th.

In 2011, 40 members of UGA's teams traveled to Bloomington, Ind., for the East Prelims and 14 advanced to the NCAA Championships with three multi-event athletes having already automatically qualified for the finals.

Jasmine Brunson will help to make up a team of 33 athletes from the Clemson University Track and Field program that earned official bids to the NCAA East Preliminary Round. Brunson will compete in the Women’s Triple Jump.

Meanwhile Arantxa King is one of Stanford University dozens who will take part in the NCAA Preliminary Rounds West Region in Austin, Texas.

In the field events, Stanford will be particularly strong in the jumps, led by King who is entered in both the Women’s Long Jump and Triple Jump. King is ranked eighth in the long jump and 12th in the triple jump where she is a contender for All-America honors in both.
