Bermuda Track and Field Association President Donna Watson said, “Our athletes continue to perform well overseas with this coming weekend being an important one with Regional Championships taking place. Tre Houston will be competing in a meet in London this coming Wednesday. We are hoping that Aaron Evans, Arantxa King and Houston can reach the Olympic qualifying standard or at least move even closer to the standard.”
Taylor Ashley Bean, Ashley Berry and Lamont Marshall competed at the Duke Twilight Invitational.
Bean continues her impressive performances since Carifta by setting a new Bermuda Junior record in the 800m with a time of 2:12.72 placing 2nd in her Heat and 9th overall. Bean now holds, simultaneously, three Junior Women’s National records, the 800m – 2:12.72, 1500m – 4:42.82 and the 3000m – 10:22.82.
Berry continues to improve each week continually lowering her time in the 1500m placing 4th in her Heat in a Personal Best time of 4:36.80 and placing 9th overall.
Marshall placed 4th in his Heat in a time of 3:53.56 and finishing 4th overall.
