The final round of the Women’s British Basketball League Championship regular season is now just under a month away, and there is still plenty to play for.
The game to keep an eye on is a clash in South London as Jenaya Wade-Fray and her Brixton Topcats host the unbeaten leaders, and recent Betty Codona Classic champions Nottingham Wildcats,.
The Wildcats were 82-40 victors when the two teams met earlier in the season, but Brixton's captain Amber Charles believes her side have improved a lot since December's encounter.
'We're really looking forward to playing Nottingham this weekend,' she declared.
'Last time we played them, we were in a different place in our season and we've grown a lot since then so it will be interesting to see how we put that into practice.'
Brixton put in a strong display to defeat Leicester Riders in last weekend's Betty Codona Classic Plate tournament, before falling to Sevenoaks Suns in the final.
And, Charles feels that her team learnt from their performances, and hopes to see her team play more freely in their five remaining league games.
'Over the weekend we were able to see the difference between when we play as a unit and when we play individually,' she said.
'As a unit, it's pretty exciting to watch so I think it's renewed our confidence and hopefully set the tone for the remainder of the season.
'I feel that we are finding our groove - we've been working hard to tweak the little things that are hopefully going to bring it together.
'I expect for us to continue to grow, and as long as we push ourselves to go into games with confidence, I think the final games are going to be interesting and the Play-Offs even more so.'
Meanwhile Wade-Fray was named to the All-Bench team from the Betty Codona Classic.
