Great Britain guard and 2012 Olympian Jenaya Wade-Fray will be returning to the Women’s British Basketball League (WBBL) this season and adding an offensive punch to the Brixton Topcats roster.
There seems to be a recurring theme with Coach Steve Vear's recruitment drive for this upcoming season as Wade-Fray also joined late in last year's campaign (like confirmed signings Amber Charles and Jenelle Grant) and consequently will also be eager to play a full season in the WBBL.
'I'm excited about the upcoming season, happy to be back playing at Brixton and I am looking forward to what the season brings,' said Wade-Fray.
'Pre-season has never been my favorite part of the year - with all the running and all, but I know it's necessary and we are working hard as a team to get better with every training session.'
Wade-Fray made an instant impact last season after pouring in 19 points on her debut against Manchester Mystics. She continued her solid form, ending the season with an average of 13 points, two assists and 2.4 steals per game in seven games.
The player is also central to the desire of Coach Vear to encourage a strong theme of having good team-mates which can create a positive energy - with Wade-Fray also able to help drive the younger player's development.
He explained, “Wade-Fray is not only a high quality player, but also a quality person and team-mate which is vital for us this season as we add new faces to the roster.
'We will announcing some of the talented younger players we have brought in and having Wade-Fray is huge for us to help their development.'
