The Final for the Cellone Island Basketball League inside the Cedarbridge Academy Gymnasium did not go to script as the Crossfire Ballers failed to make up enough players on a roster.
The Thunder Cats players warmed up preparing for the Final, however the Crossfire Ballers only had three players warming up, phone calls to other players to find out if they intended to play went unanswered.
Unconfirmed reports suggest that the players no show was more about a replacement player not allowed to play in the final, something the organizers had expressed to the team before the Final.
In the end the Thunder Cats were presented the Trophy ending the season.
The Ladies Final was one that will be remembered for a long time as it went down to the wire with the Lady Hawks edging the Court Queens 28 – 27.
Denise Burgess led the Lady Hawks to the title scoring 9 points, while Nicole Crumpler scored 8 points for the Court Queens.
