No rest for the weary as Team Hurricane Basketball Academy returns from last week’s successful Montreal Hoop Experience to announce the Team Hurricane-Global Squad Invitational Skills Camp to be held at Bermuda College this weekend, April 10, 11 & 12th.
In keeping with its mission to provide the best competitive basketball experience for student-athletes who want to pursue a college education, Team Hurricane is aligning with Alexander Basketball Academy to hold the Team Hurricane-Global Squad Invitational Skills Camp. The fostering of such relationships serves to benefit Bermuda’s student-athletes as Team Hurricane works with other basketball academies experienced in bringing international players to U.S. college coaches.
Alexander Basketball Academy (ABA) is a basketball training organization dedicated to helping athletes achieve their basketball related goals and reach the “next level.” For nearly 10 years ABA players have reached their highest potential by utilizing cutting-edge training techniques and a distinctive coaching style that stresses physical improvement, mental growth, and leadership. Alexander Basketball Academy is led by John Alexander. John played 4 years of college basketball at Washington College (Chestertown, Maryland) where he was captain and three time Defensive Player of the Year. Coach Alexander has been training high school, college, and pro players for nearly 10 years and has over 40 players who have made it to the NCAA level. Basketball is definitely a family affair as John’s brother, Joe Alexander, was a 2008 NBA 1st round draft pick of the Milwaukee Bucks out of West Virginia University.
John Alexander is looking forward to this weekend’s camp. “Doug Reed and Kent Tacklyn of Team Hurricane have been gracious enough to allow the Global Squad coaches to run this invitational camp in order to scout, recruit, invited NCAA level talent from Bermuda to attend the Global Squad.”

At camp’s end, players will have the tools necessary to train at a high level regardless of where they live or the facilities at their disposal.
