Guyana 76 Bermuda 73
After leading the game from the first possession until late in the fourth quarter, Bermuda came up short with host Guyana winning 76 – 73.
Bermuda coach Roderick Spencer said, “With this being our first game since the Island Games we showed the rust with a few late turnovers that ended up being our downfall.”
Guyana was led by Travis Burnett who scored 18 points and he had 7 steals, Shelroy Thomay scored 14 points and Akeem Kanhai chipped in with 11 points and 4 assists.
Bermuda was led by Phillip Sullivan who had 18 points and 7 rebounds, while Dean Jones scored 17 points, 6 rebounds and 2 Blocked Shots, Chris Crumpler was the only other Bermuda player to score in double figures with 11 points.
