As Islandstats.com reported previously it was a dream debut for new signing Jenaya Wade-Fray as she led the Brixton Topcats to a crucial 69-42 win vs Manchester Mystics to keep their playoff hopes alive.
Great Britian International, Wade-Fray, top scored with 19 points, adding 4 assists and 4 steals to kick start Brixton’s chase for a WBBL Championship Playoff spot as they move to within one win of Sevenoaks Suns with two games in hand.
Coach Steve Vear paid tribute to the team’s character that pushed them through for the win.
“People will look at the stats sheet and see how well Wade-Fray, Jenelle Grant and Krystal Charles played with high efficiency numbers from all three. They all really stepped up and were massive for us. What the stat sheet won’t show is the character of the team and how much energy we had consistently throughout the game. I felt Amber Charles came in and gave us a lot as did Ishara Bilson-Graham. It really was a team effort and this is what I’ve been asking for which the players responded with. We will just need to keep the momentum going.”
