Guernsey’s Men’s Basketball Head Coach Adam Farish says his side will fear no-one ahead of Thursday’s NatWest Island Games draw.
The 2014 Founders Cup finalists are one of twelve teams in the men’s draw, whilst there are eight islands competing in the women’s competition.
Guernsey will have to face one of the Games’ powerhouses in the group stages including Bermuda, who have won Gold at the last three tournaments.
But Farish believes his side will go into Jersey 2015 well prepared and hoping to contest for a medal.
There’s nobody we really want to avoid, we have to play everyone at some point.
We need to beat the big teams if we want to contend and make some noise in the competition.
They are all tough matches, but maybe playing one of the top teams first up when they’re not quite ready might be good.
Men’s competition: Bermuda, Cayman Islands, Faroe Islands, Froya, Gibraltar, Gotland, Guernsey, Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, Jersey, Menorca, Saaremaa.
Women’s competition: Bermuda, Cayman Islands, Gibraltar, Gotland, Guernsey, Isle of Man, Jersey, Menorca.
