Hurricanes on Recruitment Drive for 2014/15 Season

IslandStats.com
Team Hurricane Basketball Academy, registered charity #959, is pleased to announce that it is set to begin its 2014-2015 season. Team Hurricane encourages all interested student-athletes and their parents to come out to basketball training this Saturday, September 6, at Warwick Academy from 3pm to 5pm.

Team Hurricane Founder and Head Coach, Doug Reed, is excited about what the upcoming year has to offer. “Coach Kent Tacklyn and I are excited to continue the Team Hurricane mission of providing a platform in which student-athletes can train, develop and reach their academic and athletic potential.

“Team Hurricane Basketball Academy experienced great growth and success in its inaugural 2013-2014 season and we want to continue that trend this season. We went from four student-athletes at the outset to over twenty student-athletes participating in the program during the course of the year. Team Hurricane was able to participate in the Thanksgiving Classic 2013, Summer Jam Showcase (2014), Syracuse University Basketball Camp (2014), the Bermuda College Summer League and of course…our year-long weekly training. We were also able to provide private basketball training sessions as well as guidance and support in the prep school/college application process and college recruiting.”

Team Hurricane wants to share with prospective student-athletes and their parents that the program’s team-oriented style of elite training will be beneficial for those who participate. Coach Reed cites, “On the court, our student-athletes benefit through disciplined and unselfish team play. Off the court, our players benefit by being recognized as tough-minded, competitive gentleman and ladies of character and class.“

Of equal importance Coach Reed says, “We continue to model this program as a grassroots effort which seeks to build young people of integrity. We remain committed to doing this at NO CHARGE to our players and their families.”

Current and future players of the Team Hurricane program should look forward to another great season of continued year round training as well as a return to Syracuse University Basketball Camp, not to mention college exposure events for its senior players and the launch of a tutoring program. Boys and girls age 13 – 21 are encouraged to come out to Team Hurricane Basketball Academy’s first training session of the season, this Saturday, September 6 at Warwick Academy, 3pm – 5pm. New player recruitment will continue throughout September as prospective student-athletes will be able to come out and take part in the Team Hurricane Experience each Saturday.
