The Bermuda Basketball Youth Federation (BBYF) hosted the first night of its Basketball Summer Jam inside the Berkeley Institute Gymnasium.
The Summer Jam offered spectators the opportunity to watch the Bermuda Women’s Select team, which will feature former Female Athlete of the Year Jenaya Wade-Fray and Erica Woods.
The Bermuda Women’s Select team took on NCAA Division 3 University of Pittsburgh Greenburg Women’s Basketball team.
Between the two teams they scored a total of 46 points in the first half with Bermuda leading 27-19 at the break, but the second half the University of Pittsburgh outscored Bermuda 34 – 20 to win the game 53 – 47.
Pittsburgh were led by Morgan Biddle with 13 points, 12 of those points were scored in the second half, Emily Nelson chipped in with 11 points.
Woods led the Bermuda team in scoring with 18 points, with 12 coming in the second half, while Wade-Fray scored 16 points, 15 of those came in the first half.
