Erica Woods from the Marshall University Women's Basketball squad was a recipient of the Conference USA Winter Spirit of Service Award.
C-USA rewards its student-athletes for significant community service, good academic standing and participation in their sport. The winter awards are for Basketball, Women's Swimming and Diving and Indoor Track and Field.
Woods is a graduate student from Bermuda, who has volunteered with the Upward Future Stars Basketball program, visited and spent time with patients and veterans at the Huntington VA Medical Center and participated in a cancer awareness event.
She also spent time with children at the Boys and Girls Club in El Paso, Texas, prior to the C-USA tournament.
She has a 3.7 GPA while working on a Master's in Adult Technical Education. She has a Bachelor's in Sports Management and Marketing.
In 27 game appearances (20 starts) last season she averaged 4.3 points and 2.8 rebounds.
