Wolfpack Fall League Wildcard Playoff's

IslandStats.com
In the first round of the Wolfpack Fall League Wildcard Playoff Round saw the Spurs coached by Lakeisha Bell defeat Sarah Moxley's team Pacers 18-12. "We had another great game and finally had William Gray to help us continue our winning streak. The Pacers played a good game today which made this win a very strategic one," said Coach Bell. The Spurs players of the game were Mark Chen and Emily Hellam.

Coach Paul Wilson's Bulls and Coach Charles Peters Thunder had already secured a bye to the Semi-Finals for finishing the regular season in 1st and 2nd place, so this match was a possible preview of the finals with the Thunder defeating the Bulls 24 - 18. "The Bulls showed us a few different defensive looks today and we had to respond with adjustments offensively. We pushed the tempo in the second half which gave us the edge," said Coach Peters. Nathan Cabral and Stefan Wilson were the Thunder players of the game.

The featured Wildcard Playoff game of the week put the Knicks coached by Jason Lowe against Coach Vernon Lambe's Heat. This game was one to be remembered. The Knicks started the game slowly, while the Heat started the game red hot, powered by the play of Sakari Famous. Famous hit the first basket of the game and it was clear that she came ready for a playoff battle. In the second quarter, the Knicks responded, as Shannon Thomas made several acrobatic shots. The third quarter saw a battle between the Knicks standout guard Kobie Reid and Famous as they went head to head each making a few key baskets. In the fourth quarter, the Knicks battled back with outstanding play from Darae Smith and Thomas. With just seconds to play and down by 2 points, the Knicks stole the Heat pass and Thomas hit a buzzer beater off the backboard to tie the score and force overtime. In overtime the teams went back and forth with driving baskets from Andy Perez of the Heat and Darae Smith of the Knicks. The stalemate continued into a second overtime until Smith and Corey Simas each hit layups to take a five point lead and seal the game for the Knicks winning 30 - 25. Kobie Reid and Shannon Thomas were the Knicks players of the game.
