Erica Woods’ teammate Junior forward Leah Scott contributed 23 points and five rebounds in her first appearance as a member of the Marshall University Women's Basketball team in a 78-29 victory Kentucky Christian, at Cam Henderson Center.
Woods only played 11 minutes of action without scoring, she was in foul trouble all night collecting four, Woods went 0 for 2 from the Field and 0 for 1 from the Free Throw Line, she also grabbed 1 Rebound. Marshall started the game with a 10-0 run and never looked back. The first half ended with the score at 45-18, and Marshall kept its feet on the gas, allowing only 11 second-half points. Kentucky Christian ended the game with a 20 percent field goal percentage and committed 27 turnovers, off which the Herd scored 34 points. Marshall put up 44 points in the paint to Kentucky Christian's 10, and senior forward Suporia Dickens was one point away from a double-double, grabbing 15 rebounds and nine points. With all 13 active roster players participating, Marshall scored 32 bench points. Newcomer Aja Sorrells led all bench players with 13 points and eight rebounds in her first appearance. Marshall ended the game with a 59-38 advantage on the boards and went 7-8 from the charity stripe, contributing to the overall final score of 78-29.
