Sullivan Phillips and his Prievidza teammates are celebrating after they defeated Komarno 69 – 61 in the fourth game of the Slovakian Men’s National Basketball Play-Off series to clinch the Trophy.
David Godbold knocked down 18 points to pace Prievidza to the first title since 1995.
The teams stayed close throughout the first half, Prievidza playing at home eked out a narrow 21 - 19 lead after ten minutes. The lead changed hands for several times throughout intense second quarter. Prievidza had the last say as they snatched a 36 - 33 lead at halftime.
The teams remained neck and neck in the third term. The lead changes continued before the hosts posted a 50 - 46 lead with ten minutes to go. Prievidza led by just one point with less than four minutes to go but they went on an 11 - 4 run in the dying moments to seal the crucial win at the end.
Phillips posted 13 points, he went 5-for-12 from the Field and 3-for-6 from the Free Throw Line in 31 minutes of action.
Phillips grabbed 3 Rebounds, to go along with 6 Assist and 1 Blocked Shot.
