Sullivan Phillips and his Prievidza teammates celebrated their first win in the title series as they rallied past Komarno at home court 84 – 70 in the Slovakian Men’s National Basketball Play-Off Finals.
Komarno was ahead by 5 points at the halftime before a 46-27 second half run of Prievidza.
Prievidza also forced 20 Komarno turnovers and outrebounded them 41-30 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Komarno was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch.
British swingman Paul Guede orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds. Bermuda’s swingman Phillips contributed with 21 points for the winners.
American guard Johnathon Jones replied with 17 points and 4 assists for Komarno and Slovenian forward Sinisa Bilic added 13 points and 7 rebounds.
Phillips went 7-for-10 from the field and 7-of-8 from the free throw line in 29 minutes of action. Phillips also grabbed 2 rebounds to go along with 2 assist, 2 steals and 1 blocked shot.
