In the latest Slovakian Men’s National Basketball League action 5th ranked Nova Ves were defeated on the road by Sullivan Phillips and his first ranked Prievidza teammates.
The game was mostly controlled by Prievidza, as Nova Ves was better in second period outscoring them 20-18.
But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory, Prievidza forced 20 Nova Ves turnovers and outrebounded them 48-34 including a 21-10 advantage in offensive rebounds.
The best player for the winners was Bermuda’s swingman Phillips who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds.
Phillips went 4-of-8 from the Field, 2-of-5 from behind the Three Point Line and 8-of-12 from the Free Throw Line. Phillips also had 3 Assist, 3 Steals and 1 Blocked Shot in 34 minutes of action.
American forward Bobby Davis chipped in 20 points and 7 rebounds for Prievidza, while American forward Andrew Jones recorded a double-double by scoring 11 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks for Nova Ves and his fellow American import guard Corey Jefferson added 6 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists.
