The Bermuda Netball Association (BNA) 2016 Opening Ceremony for the Senior Winter Season and the Sylvia Eastley Tournament finally got underway after a two-week delay at the Bernard's Park.
The tournament got underway with the dress parade and brief words from the new President Kimale Evans.
The Senior Division has 6 teams, the Blazzin Phoenix coached by Angela Edwards, the North Village Lady Rams coached by Nicole Smith, while the Phoenix Flames coached by Erika Russell, the Phoenix Heat coached by Erika Russell, Robin Hood Ladies coached by Lettina Simpson and the Storm are coached by Gina Benjamin.

Two teams ended the opening day undefeated including the Phoenix Heat and Storm, the second half of the tournament will resume on November 12th as the BNA is holding a weekend of events next week starting on Friday night with the Youth Classic.
This year the BNA be honouring long time coach Merle Parfitt, this will be followed by the Breast Cancer Awareness Tournament on Saturday. Both events were postponed due to a hurricane Nicole.
