Bermuda are now 2 & 2 following their 34 – 19 loss to Grenada as the 16th Jean Pierre Tournament continued in Barbados.
However prior to their forth match a meeting was held by the Caribbean Netball Association with all participating teams, as a complaint was launched that Bermuda had over age players.
After a lengthy discussion on the interpretation of the rules, all teams agreed that Bermuda would only play three players in their 17th year.
This decision caused Bermuda coaches to alter their starting lineup.
Bermuda won the toss and started the match with some good attacking play utilizing a variation of passes into their circle allowing them to outscore Grenada in the first quarter 8-6.
The second quarter saw Grenada change their tactics to a more physical game, which frustrated Bermuda's attacking unit and caused them to loose composure. They also resorting to high lob passes into their 6' 3" shooter, which proved to be a good move with them going into the half leading 17-11.
Micah Pond replaced Amory to start the third quarter as Grenda continued with their tactics, despite the efforts of Bermuda’s defensive unit which included Debre Evans, Inshan-nae Smith and Demiqua Daniels who never gave up. Grenada capitalized on the height and physicality of their shooters, ending the quarter leading 26-14.
Amory returned to her starting Center position in the 4th quarter with Bermuda totally frustrated, nothing seemed to go their way, with the umpires not doing them any favors. Under the tournament rules Bermuda changed their focus and tried to preserve one point by restricting Grenada from doubling Bermuda's goals.
Bermuda have 11 points putting them in the middle of the table with three games left to be played, Donnauri Robinson led Bermuda with 15 goals, while Zekiah Lewis added 4 goals.
